With Father's Day on Sunday 19th June, now is the perfect time to plan a truly unique way to show your appreciation for your Father. Consider the Leckford Estate if you want something different to the usual card and voucher. Here are a few suggestions for making your father feel special on Father's Day:
A Family Walk
There’s no better way to spend Father’s Day than a walk with family out and about in the sunshine. Longstock Park Water Garden is the perfect destination. With a calming atmosphere and beautiful scenery, the garden is a true spectacle, hosting an array of plants from around the world. Make sure to book your tickets before Father’s Day so you’re not left disappointed.
A Quiet Day Fishing
Make your Dad’s special day truly unforgettable by giving him an experience he’s always dreamt of.
The Leckford Estate owns and manages 16 fishing beats on the famous River Test, which runs through the Estate from east to west, with Leckford village at one end and Longstock at the other. Our two river-fed lakes are open all year with the beats open from May to October.
If your Father enjoys fishing, why not take him to catch some trout? The rivers on the Leckford Estate are stocked with the finest fish, all hatched and reared by our diligent team.
Brunch with Dad
Just because it’s Father’s Day, don’t make the mistake of thinking that the day has to be action-packed. Many Dads like unwinding and sitting around the table with their favourite people, enjoying time together and catching up on each other’s news. If the sun is shining, sit outside and reminisce on some of your favourite moments together. Longstock Park Café is the ideal location for this – you can look out over our beautiful plant nursery and wall garden while tucking into a locally sourced, nutritious lunch.
Cook a Meal
After a full day of excitement - or relaxation - there’s no better way to round off Father’s Day than with a delicious family meal. Why not cook your Dad’s favourite meal yourself, with locally grown and sourced ingredients from the Longstock Park Farm Shop? Gather other family members together and pitch in to cook something special, and don’t forget the dessert! Top the evening off with a range of drinks, from juices, beers and ciders to wines and spirits, all produced from local vineyards, including Leckford's own.
Spend it at Leckford
Whichever way your Dad likes to spend his time, we are here to help you show him how much you care! Whether it be for trout fishing, walking around the water garden, or even if you just fancy a great cup of coffee and a sandwich at the café, visit Leckford Estate this Father’s Day.
